Proverbs 4:23, English Standard Version

Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.”

In 2014 Capital One launched a new campaign in an effort to get more customers to use their credit card.   The catch phrase for this new campaign was “What’s in Your Wallet?”   The suggestion here is greater purchasing power when you have their credit card in your wallet.   Do you want greater purchasing power, security and unlimited peace of mind?   Do you want the best year ever?   Then you will have to address this question… “What’s in Your Heart?”   In Matthew 15, Jesus told the crowd that it’s not what goes into ones mouth that defiles him, but it is what goes into his heart and then comes out of his mouth that defiles him.

If you are born again {you gave your life to Jesus; He is your Lord and Savior} then the way you received salvation {purchased it} was to first hear a message about salvation – a message about God’s grace.   It went into your heart and then you used your words to speak from your heart which produced a new creation in Christ Jesus! (Romans 10:10)    There is unlimited purchasing power, security and peace of mind available for you now.    The way to experience this is to get it into your heart.  The way it gets into your heart is the same way you received salvation.   You have to hear a message about Jesus, God’s Grace… you have to read God’s Word about Jesus, or meditate on this graceful Savior.   When you do that, you are building up purchasing power in your heart.

In II Kings 20, a young king is dying.  He is only 39 years old.   The prophet tells him to get his house in order because today is his last day on earth.   God’s word said that the prophet was in the courtyard of the king’s home leaving when God said to the prophet, “Go back and tell the king he will now live and fulfill his destiny.”  What happened?  How did this happen so suddenly?   One minute, his time is up, and the next thing you know, he will live!   The answer is found in verse 2 of that chapter.   The king shifted in his heart.   He turned his heart back towards God.  God became the focus of his life by remembering how good God had been to him, and how good God is always.   He was no longer focused on his problems, the stress of being a ruler, a family that was separated, but he tapped into what was in his heart.     He spoke a short prayer – only 28 words long.    The number 28 in Hebrew means ETERNAL LIFE.    Here is the point.  The king spoke from his heart WORDS OF ETERNAL LIFE!  By doing that, things in him quickly changed.   From speaking what was in his heart, the king purchased health, healing and deliverance.   If you will hide God’s word in your heart (Psalm 119) it won’t be long till you will soon be speaking what is in your heart and purchasing what has already been secured for you!     It can be the best year ever!     The good news is there is never a bill to pay at the end of the month….love has done it all for you and Love Never Fails!
