**A Year of Greater
April 7, 2017**

*Joshua 3:16 YLT
“Then the waters which came down from above stood and rose up in a heap (completely stopped flowing down; reversed itself; flowing back to where it started) a great distance away at a town called Adam.” *

Make no mistake about it, this year is your year of greater.  Whatever has been cutting you off from experiencing God’s very best for you this year has already been dealt with by God!   All you need to do is believe it and then take that step of faith into the promises of greater that God has prearranged.  When the priests of the Old Testament put their feet into the river Jordan (the river that was keeping them from the promise land), God caused the river to completely stop flowing and go the other direction -  “all” the way back to a town called “Adam”!   Adam… the place where it all started; the fall of man, sin, sickness, disease, poverty and separation from God… the place where the river of curses had its beginning.  Jesus came to redeem us from the curses - His finished work at the cross completely stopped the flowing down of curses, diseases, poverty, all the effects of sin and separation from God.  It was reversed all the way back to Adam!  Just as the priests stood firm that day so all of Israel could “cross” over, your High Priest, Jesus, and all He has done for you, is standing firm.  Greater awaits you – don’t wait another second.  Stop putting it off.  The ground is dry; the footing is sure -  let’s do this!   *A time to walk in, living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live.   Ephesians 2:10, Amp.*

**A Year of Greater
March 24, 2017**

*Genesis 25:34b
“Thus Esau despised (distained) his birthright.”*

Since the new year of 2017 you’ve been hearing and reading from me how this is a year of greater.  Please don’t shrug this off.  God’s word says this is exactly what Esau did - he distained his birthright (to think very little of, not to place any value on it).  Your birthright as a son or daughter of God is a privileged one; it’s a right of and for possession.

The birthright in God’s word means headship; power over enemies; fruitfulness; double share of all and everything of the family inheritance- not just one time- but a life time; most importantly it means Jehovah as a special God in relationship to you!  (Gesenius’ Hebrew Lexicon)

It’s no wonder Jacob did whatever He had to do to receive this birthright (Genesis 27).  I’m not saying what Jacob did to deceive his father was right, but He understood and valued what the birthright meant.  The good news for you and I today is that if you are born again of the blood of Jesus, the birthright is yours.  You are called *the privileged one*; you have the right to and the use of all that Jesus possessed for us at the cross!   Jehovah is a special God to you in relationship.  He’s not holding anything back from you!  A double share awaits you, of all and anything in this family.  It’s a lifetime, a lifetime of greater.  Make a quality decision.  Don’t shrug off your birthright, placing little value on it.  You are a son and/or daughter of God.  Search the scriptures and start seeing yourself as extraordinary - not ordinary!   See yourself of greater value - not less value.  Remember, you are Jesus worthy!   God sent His one and only beloved Son for you, so you could be called his beloved also.  Rise up this day and every day and possess your year of greater – you’ll be amazed at what will happen!

**March 17, 2017**

*Matthew 6:31
“Therefore take no thought saying, what shall we eat or what shall we drink or wherewithal shall we be clothed?...”*

I’d like to start out today reminding you again that love gives, grace supplies and faith takes as much as it wants or as much as it needs.  This Word of God is programmed to work, in other words to “TAKE” stuff.  Stuff is anything we want, need or do not want or need in our life.  It is “TAKEN” by SAYING!   Notice Jesus himself said “TAKE” no thought (worry) by SAYING!   Since worry can be taken by speaking, what else can be taken by saying (speaking)?  John 1:14 says “the Word became flesh.”  Became in this sentence means to take,  so the Word took flesh.

This is a year of greater.  Greater for you and I is not going to happen on its own.  Greater needs to be TAKEN.  It’s taken by SAYING!   The two blind men in Matthew 9:27-30 would have never received their sight if they didn’t take their sight by saying!  Jesus said to them, “do you believe that I am able to do this?”  They responded, “Yes, Lord”.  They took by saying; the Word (Jesus) worked for them and it was a greater day for them than any other day had ever been!  You can best believe that it was a greater year!

2017, a year of greater awaits you.   It’s TAKEN by SAYING!   **Take** health, peace, joy, prosperity.  **Take** a great marriage, a job, all your bills paid off, relationships restored, long life and any promise that God has in his Word is yours!    It happens (IS TAKEN) by SAYING.

HE, Jesus, TOOK all of our sins by SAYING.    Just as Jesus took all of our sins by *saying*, we now can *take* all of the promises of God by *saying*.   It is a year of greater.   Do you believe that the Word is able to do this?  Then **TAKE** it by **SAYING** it!

Matthew 9:29
Then He touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith will it be done to you.” (NIV)

Let’s Make A Deal: I’m sure many of you have heard of this popular game show that is on TV. The format of the show involves traders who were given something of value and offered a choice of whether to keep it or exchange it for something greater that was to be found behind door #1, door #2, or door #3.

Throughout the New Testament , faith is described as this – NO FAITH, which is simply unbelief (door #1); LITTLE FAITH, which is usually linked to fear, (door #2); and GREAT FAITH, which is void of any Old Testament Law {the original ten commandments + 603 add ons} (door #3). Jesus said in John 10:9, “I am the door: by Me if any man enter in, He shall be saved and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” (KJV)

So let’s make a deal today, if you’ve been born again (made Jesus Lord of your Life) by “faith” you’ve been given something of value…Salvation! This gives you the ability by “faith” to open any door – through Christ by “faith.” Since it is a year of greater, you’ll want what’s behind door #3. It’s every spiritual blessing secured for us by Christ Jesus our Lord. I’m talking mortgages paid off, addictions removed, marriages that are a 10, healing, health, joy, peace, life and that more abundantly! It’s accessed by “faith”. Notice, according to your “faith” will it be done (Matt. 9:29), not according to your education, your bank account, color of your skin, or even what part of the world you live in. It’s according to your faith. So here’s the deal…. Go for Door #3 this year! Drop all the excuses of why you can’t or why it won’t be a year of greater. Great faith is simply believing that what Jesus did at the cross was for you, and it’s real, it’s finished. Love gives, grace supplies, and faith takes as much as it wants or needs. Take door #3 – it’s the best deal – it’s the greater deal, it’s the deal for a life time in faith!

A YEAR OF GREATER

Genesis 1:26-27
“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and all the creatures that move along the ground.’ So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”

Today I’d like you to consider the word image. Image is defined as an optical counterpart, reflection and mental representation of a person, animal or thing. That means “Picture This”! God created you to reflect His nature. His nature is greater than any and all creatures, and things on the face of the earth. Do you see yourself that way – the way God made you in the image of Him – in the image of Greater? The truth is you will never rise above the image you have of yourself in your mind. How far you go this year or really in your life is a reflection of the self portrait that you paint. I need God’s word for an accurate image of who I am and what I am. My self image will show up in the way I talk, act and react as a person.

Picture this… did you know that Jesus is from the tribe known as the Lion of Judah? (Revelation 5:5) The lion is considered the King of the Jungle, not because he is the biggest (that would be the elephant), not because he’s the strongest (that would be the silver back ape), not even because he is the toughest (that would be the rhino). The reason he is the King of the Jungle is because he thinks he is! His self image is that of King of all the animals, and all the beasts of the jungle honor that image. There is a lion inside of you! The Lion of the tribe of Judah! It doesn’t matter how tall you are, what sex you are, or even the color of your skin – you’ve been made in the image of Greater, over all creatures and things, by the blood of Jesus Christ. This is a year of Greater – it’s time to roar! Rise above your current image and reflect the image of that Lion of Judah. Greater in strength, greater in knowledge, greater in ability, greater in health, greater in all things! Believe you have been made in the image of God – the image of Greater – the image of the Lion of Judah - then watch all creatures and things honor that image!

A YEAR OF GREATER

Nehemiah 8:10, AMP.
"For this day is holy to our Lord, and be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold.”

Today I’d like to talk to you about strongholds. Most of my adult christian life, I’ve heard often how important it was to pull down strongholds. That may be true in some areas, like fear, worry, stress…just to name a few, yet clearly, according to God’s Word, we need to establish strongholds. For you to enjoy this year of greater, it is going to be so necessary for you to establish a stronghold of joy. Joy is the second Fruit of the Spirit found in Galations 5:22. Notice something, it is the Fruit of the Spirit – not external, but internal.

When Nehemiah penned this scripture that many of us quote, but sadly some fail to live out, he had just been through hell. There were so many external things coming against him. On the outside, the walls that were supposed to protect Jerusalem had fallen down, the people were unhappy and the enemies of the people of God were in full frontal assault. Nehemiah refused to let what was external affect him internally.
Joy is a sure sign that grace (God’s capacity, power and ability) is present, working for you and flowing from you. Nehemiah let what was greater internally affect what was external. Strongholds are nothing but thoughts that we choose to dominate our thinking . When I focus on the external situation of my life, it is easy to see how fear, worry, and stress can bring down the walls of health, peace and laughter in my life. But when I choose to focus on God’s Word, where He says, “this is the day that He made for me, I’m going to rejoice and be glad in it; that I’m fearfully and wonderfully made; that He took such joy in creating me- I’m made in the image of my Father; greater is He that is in me than anything that is in this world…” It’s then that those wrong strongholds easily go away and suddenly my external world is vastly affected by my internal truths.

Nehemiah finished the external things by choosing to feast on the fruit of joy which allowed grace to flow through him. In fact, (or should I say in truth, which makes freedom) He finished the walls, united the people and saw his enemies fade away in record time. For not only is this day holy (set apart in advance), but so is this entire year. A year of Greater awaits. Have your vitamin “C” today – take a big (greater) bite of the Joy of Christ – it will affect your whole day – your entire year!

A Year of Greater

James 3:8, The Message
“This is scary: you can tame a tiger, but no man can tame a tongue – it’s never been done.”

Since this is the 17th day of this month and also the year of 2017 I’d like to remind you what 17 means again! Not only does it mean a year of greater, but it also means uninterrupted victory! Did you know that your tongue has 17 muscles in it? Only the human tongue has this. This means you were designed by God to speak victory to enjoy greater.

James tells us that the tongue cannot be tamed by man. Man can tame a lot of things, but he cannot tame his tongue! This is where it gets good (greater). James is right- man cannot, but Holy Spirit can. He’s not a mere human being. He is the power of Almighty God on the inside of you! He’s the fuel of fire shut up in your bones. James said the tongue can start big fires…right again! This day, this year, let the Holy Spirit use your tongue to start a fire of power, of construction not destruction, let Holy Spirit use your words to turn your life in a new direction, just as the rudder of a ship, as small as that rudder is, can turn a huge ship. The ship doesn’t turn sharply, whipping it around. No, the rudder brings it around by keeping it on course. When I consistently let Holy Spirit use my tongue to speak words of life, expressing joy, singing praises, my life is being brought onto a course of greater – uninterrupted victory! The change of course by faith words, grace filled words, will turn anything.

No man can tame his tongue, but Holy Spirit can. Allow Him to put pressure on those 17 muscles to speak uninterrupted victory so you will enjoy greater. You were designed for this! Give your year a good (greater) tongue lashing by the greater power of Holy Spirit who is in you!

A YEAR OF GREATER
February 10, 2017

Romans 12:11, AMP.
“Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.”

Today I’d like to talk to you about zeal. The Greek word for it is “entheo” meaning to be filled with God or in God. It is also where we get the word enthusiasm. It is a passion resulting from divine inspiration. Paul is saying that we should never be lagging in it. This means it falls on me to be enthusiastic; to be passionate. If I am born again that means I am filled with God - not that I’m going to be - I am, right now, filled with the Maker of heaven and earth; filled with the One who has the power over hell, death, life and the grave. I have the most powerful force in the universe living on the inside of me right now! I don’t have to pray about it… I HAVE it. You were created to be passionate, enthusiastic! Enthusiam, zeal, is not a feeling… it’s a choice. It’s really a switch I turn off or on. This is a Year of Greater – I don’t need to pray that it will be, I just simply decide it will be. I turn on the switch of zeal; enthusiasm! When I go to an event or go on vacation or visit with friends, it’s not their responsibility to get me passionate/enthusiastic about going, seeing them or being there. I choose to. Whatever I focus on I give power to and I move towards. The more negative I am, the more negative I receive. The more positive I am, the more positive I receive. Enthusiasm is attractive and contagious. Paul said in II Corintians 9:2 because of your zeal, enthusiasm, it has stirred up the majority! When you endeavor to be aglow with the Spirit, earnestly burning, serving the Lord, it changes everything. Your marriage is better (greater), your children are better (greater), work isn’t something I have to go to - but I get to go to! Paul also said in Colossians 3:23 to do everything with enthusiasm as unto the Lord. Get God involved. Get the “Greater is He who is in you” involved. Turn on the switch of enthusiasm - choose to be passionate- you’ll be the better (greater) for it and so will everyone and everything around you.

Colossians 3:11, Wycliffe - Message
“Put on the uniform of greater, (spiritual self) custom–made by the Creator with His label on it.”

This Sunday, as you know, is Super Bowl Sunday between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons football teams. Each man will proudly wear the uniform that represents their team. A champion will emerge at the end of the game. Champions are “not” formed by men. Champions are born “of God”. God’s Word tell us that we’ve been made into the image of Him who created us (Gen. 1:27-28). You were created – formed to be- a champion long before you arrived on this planet. A jersey, custom-made for you with your name across it that would clearly identify who you are, was prepared by God for you. It was inspected by inspector #777. He put His label on it and signed off on it. It would have never left His hand if it wasn’t complete, custom-made and ready for use. You have been born for greater, you have been formed for Greater – it has been programmed into you!!

Since Champions are not formed by men, they emerge when they are informed; when what has been programmed into them is coached out of them. So let me take a few moments to inform you; you have right “now” what it takes to conquer. You have what it takes for greater. You are intelligent; you are talented; you are attractive; you are strong; you are successful; you are an overcomer! Champions are in your family - those who put on the uniform custom-made for them! From Abraham to Moses, Joshua to David, Peter to Paul and now YOU. Come on…put it on… it’s in you…you look good in Greater – it was custom made for you with His label on it!

A Year of Greater

John 14:12 “The person who trusts me will not only do what I’m doing but even GREATER things, because I, on my way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I’ve been doing; You can count on it.” MSG

Today is a very unique day for the United States of America. It’s Inauguration Day, where the whole world will witness an exchange of power and authority from one person to another. When Jesus rose from the grave and went to be with our Father again before He left, He transferred authority and power unto believers.

The person who trusts and believes will be able to do what Jesus did and GREATER. One translation says GREATER in quantity and quality. This is quite a truth if you consider what Jesus did while here on this earth! John said… “I suppose there would not be room enough for the books that would be written.” (John 21:25). Keep this in mind, Jesus was limited while on this earth because first, He was the son of man and second, He was restrained by a religious system called the law. Because of the cross, all limitations have been removed. You and I can do all things through Christ! (Phil. 4:13)
“GREATER” in quantity and quality!

This is a year of Greater… that means there are books with blank pages just begging to record what you’ll do through Christ. All authority that Jesus had, He now has given to you. All you need to do is trust and believe. Greater is He that is in you…. Greater than anything that is in this world! You’re better than you think you are – the truth is you’re greater because of Jesus! So come on, it’s a year of greater – there are some books with your name on them – let’s start filling them up!

A Year of Greater**

*Proverbs 4:23   “Guard your heart above all else for it determines the course of your life.”  NLT*

This whole year I want to encourage you that it is a year of greater.  Not greater problems, not greater limitations, but greater joy, health and peace – a year for you to see and to be part of the best God has for you!  Where your life goes this year is not determined by God, the devil, or anyone person – it will be regulated by your heart.  Your heart will determine the course of your life for this year!  The devil doesn’t have the power (nor does anyone else) to stop this year from being greater than any year you’ve ever had.  There are dreams and desires that are to be experienced deposited into you from eternity.  Nothing can stop greater… nothing; unless you believe it, and give the enemy or others this authority.  (Luke 10:19, Message).

The Bible doesn’t say all things are possible to those who… pray, attend church.   It says *all things are possible to those who believe!!*  Greater is in you.  It is for you and it is waiting on you.  God wrote an entire book with you in mind.  This year, why don’t you connect with the promises of greater found in His word about you.  When you align your heart to what God says about you, and all that is ready for you, and then you guard it above all else, your life for this year can’t help but go the course of greatness!

A YEAR OF GREATER

Lamentations 3:22-24   The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.  “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore, I have hope in Him.”  (NASB)

Well, it’s 2017.  A brand new year.   I’m sure you have probably already been told or have also wished many people a happy new year by now!   But just in case you haven’t been wished one,  let me say to you this day…Happy New Year!      This leads to a very interesting question…when do you stop saying Happy New Year?  How long after the new year has arrived do you drop off that expression?   Is it two days after, five days, a week after?  What is the proper edict?  According to God’s word, it is never!  His lovingkindnesses, His compassions, His faithfulness, His portion for you are “NEW” every morning!  Every day this year has been designed for a Happy New Year!  A year of Greater…Greater joy, greater peace, greater strength, greater relationships, greater blessings.  Everyday your loving Father is saying to you Happy New Year!    Happy New Year my son, my daughter;  you were designed in heaven, created by me and placed on this planet by ME!    I was well aware of your arrival and with great anticipation and excitement, I have planned out everything for your greater.   (Ephesians 1:3-5)

God is ready for you to enjoy big things, new things and greater things this year!   He has poured out His far and beyond favor on you (Ephesians 2:7).  It is a happy new year,  I will say of my soul – it’s not only today, it is every day!

Come on…. Let’s get started…. Let’s discover it together – a year of GREATER!
